Britain\u2019s attention is elsewhere, and so we have another rather quiet chart. I\u2019m doing this on my iPad, so no embedded videos this week. But there isn\u2019t actually much to embed anyway, so don\u2019t get too comfortable.<\/p>\n
1. Sabrina Carpenter – \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n That\u2019s three weeks at number one, and \u201cEspresso\u201d has spent all three of them at number 2.<\/p>\n 30. The Kid Laroi – \u201cNights Like This\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Not a new release, but a 86-second track from last year\u2019s album \u201cThe First Time\u201d – although there is a new video for it in order to promote his tour.<\/p>\n 35. BL3SS & CamrinWatsin featuring Bbyclose – \u201cKisses\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n This week\u2019s only actual new entry, and it\u2019s a track that\u2019s been out for three months and climbs from the lower reaches. Debut hit for everyone – as best I can tell, BL3SS and CamrinWatsin are the producers. Although I\u2019ve linked the primary version above, a lot of the streams seem to belong to the Evan McGee remix<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 38. Dua Lipa – \u201cHoudini\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n A number 2 hit back at the end of November, this dropped out of the top 40 back in March; it\u2019s here because of her Glastonbury appearance. \u201cIllusion\u201d also rebounds from 36 to 25, and all three of her albums are in the top 10.<\/p>\n And that\u2019s your lot. This week\u2019s climbers:<\/p>\n The three records leaving the top 40:<\/p>\n \u201cStick Season\u201d by Noah Kahan is still the longest running track on the top 40, at 40 weeks and counting. It\u2019s back up one place to 31 this week.<\/p>\n On the album chart,\u00a0\u201cThe Tortured Poets Department\u201d by Taylor Swift<\/strong> returns to number 1 for an eighth non-consecutive week (all its other weeks having been spent at 2).<\/p>\n\n
