Gracie Abrams &#8211; &#8220;That&#8217;s So True&#8221;<\/strong> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s three weeks. It has peaked, though. The top 3 is static, with &#8220;Sailor Song&#8221; at 2 and &#8220;APT&#8221; at 3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Sam Fender &#8211; &#8220;People Watching&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DHzaHMmXB6Y?si=YGKj4Pfgt1TtYErU\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is the lead single (and title track) from his third album. The previous two albums both went to number 1, though, and a three year gap has done him no harm. It&#8217;s only his third top ten hit, and one of those was as a guest on a Noah Kahan single. The other was his biggest hit, &#8220;Seventeen Going Under&#8221;, which reached number 3. This one is on similar lines, although I&#8217;m fairly sure it&#8217;s the only hit single of the year to mention kittiwakes.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Tate McRae &#8211; &#8220;2 Hands&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cr4wnsLI_Xw?si=R9yEJaa7D-lVElrM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is the second single from next year&#8217;s album, and it outperforms &#8220;It&#8217;s OK I&#8217;m OK&#8221;, which only got to 14 &#8211; though it&#8217;s still around after 10 weeks, and rebounds from 36-28 this week. &#8220;2 Hands&#8221; is her fourth top 10 hit &#8211; the others were &#8220;Greedy&#8221; from the last album, &#8220;10:35&#8221; as a guest with Tiesto in 2022, and her debut hit &#8220;You Broke Me First&#8221; from 2020, which now seems like a very uncharacteristic record for her.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16. Wham! &#8211; &#8220;Last Christmas&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E8gmARGvPlI?si=iysvGtOOqjdcbO1n\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Oh dear. &#8220;Last Christmas&#8221; reached number 2 in 1984, when it was stuck behind Band Aid. It&#8217;s been back every year since 2011 and reached number 1 at Christmas 2020, 2022 and 2023. Last year it was number one for four weeks. God help us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22. Linkin Park &#8211; &#8220;Two Faced&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kivUsDGWojU?si=mpROxjtNJbK4_tGu\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The release week single from the album <strong>&#8220;From Zero&#8221;<\/strong>, which enters at number 1. It&#8217;s their eighth album and their fourth UK number one &#8211; the others are &#8220;Meteora&#8221; (2003), &#8220;Minutes to Midnight&#8221; (2007) and &#8220;Living Things&#8221; (2012). Their last studio album was in 2017, and still made the top 5. Given their genre and veteran status, they&#8217;ve been remarkably successful with the singles from this album: &#8220;The Emptiness Machine&#8221;, which peaked at 4, rebound to number 10 this week, while &#8220;Heavy is the Crown&#8221; re-enters at 21. (It peaked at 18 on release.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>24. Sabrina Carpenter &#8211; &#8220;Juno&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1aMCVgRKcP4?si=nHk6lMCLZrfsSBdr\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is an album track that&#8217;s been floating around top 40 level for a while but has been disqualified up to now under the three song rule; &#8220;Espresso&#8221; drops below it this week, allowing it to chart. She still has &#8220;Bed Chem&#8221; at 7 and &#8220;Taste&#8221; at 12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25. Jin &#8211; &#8220;Running Wild&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uoHol5Dr_go?si=2yzArdTfjOGzk9U0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another BTS solo project; this is a track from the EP &#8220;Happy&#8221;. It&#8217;s the first time he&#8217;s made the top 40 as a solo artist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. Brenda Lee &#8211; &#8220;Rockin&#8217; Around The Christmas Tree&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TFsZy9t-qDc?si=nEeOYj7_GA0OklSf\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Originally a number 6 hit in 1962, this has charted every year since 2016 and reached an all time peak of number 4 at Christmas 2022. Last year, it spent four weeks in the top 10 and peaked at 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>39. Tyler, The Creator &#8211; &#8220;Like Him&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dgUHE8wWhiE?si=YhIn3o4TiRklr819\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another album track from &#8220;Chromakopia&#8221; as they continue shuffling places. It&#8217;s the only one to make the top 40 this week.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers (or at least, those reaching new peaks):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Bad Dreams&#8221; by Teddy Swims<\/strong> climbs 8-6.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;All I Want for Christmas is You&#8221; by Mariah Carey<\/strong> climbs 38-17, one place behind Wham.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The records leaving the top 40:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Espresso&#8221; by Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong> finally drops out under the 3-song rule. It lasted 31 weeks and had 7 weeks at number 1.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Labour&#8221; by Paris Paloma<\/strong> had a single week at number 22<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;St Chroma&#8221; by Tyler, The Creator<\/strong> peaked at 15 and lasted three weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Night Changes&#8221; by One Direction<\/strong> had four weeks with a peak of 6 (also its all-time peak)<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Somedays&#8221; by Sonny Fodera, Jazzy &amp; DOD<\/strong> peaked at 5 and lasted 17 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Kisses&#8221; by Bl3ss, Camrinwatsin &amp; Bbyclose<\/strong> peaked at 5 and lasted 20 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Austin&#8221; by Dasha<\/strong> re-entered at 37 last week and drops right back out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;The Days&#8221; by Chrystal<\/strong> gets a single week at 39.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Love Somebody&#8221; by Morgan Wallen<\/strong> gets a single week at 40.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the album chart, <strong>&#8220;From Zero&#8221; by Linkin Park<\/strong> is number 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Flo &#8211; &#8220;Access All Areas&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NQT7eAKDbNk?si=vpwadkRnKGu3hyT6\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Flo are a girl group who were being tipped as the next thing a couple of years ago but, at least in singles chart terms, never amounted to anything &#8211; they got one single to number 38. Their debut album finally comes out and&#8230; does alright, actually. I&#8217;m not sure why they&#8217;ve struggled so much, because the single is perfectly decent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Ateez &#8211; &#8220;Golden Hour &#8211; Part 2&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5OflOlcHLb8?si=kitAaJf66lFRg4rq\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A fourth top ten album for the K-pop group, although they&#8217;re actually EPs that just about scrape into the eligibiliy criteria for the album chart. This is 16 minutes long, and it&#8217;s only the physical sales that qualify for the chart &#8211; the digital download is too cheap to register as an album, which means it isn&#8217;t classed as an album for streaming purposes anyway. Fortunately for Ateez, not only do they have a loyal fan base, they&#8217;ve released this album in 20 different physical versions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22. Shawn Mendes &#8211; &#8220;Shawn&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r7__5jmJ-tA?si=rFM2ROOS4jFlZobO\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the first time he&#8217;s missed the top 20 with an album, and the first time he&#8217;s not managed to get any singles into the top 40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>33. Iron Maiden &#8211; &#8220;Powerslave&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9qbRHY1l0vc?si=RWqFJVi1aqlkIMii\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Reissue of their 1984 album (the fifth), which reached number 2 at the time.
