Taylor Swift &#8211; &#8220;I Knew It, I Knew You&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hDU4GB1PTxc\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is from the soundtrack of\u00a0<em>Toy Story 5<\/em>, and yes, this collection of clips from previous\u00a0<em>Toy Story\u00a0<\/em>films is the official video. It&#8217;s a song written specifically for the film, from Jessie&#8217;s perspective. Taylor Swift doing her best Randy Newman, basically.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s her seventh UK number one single. The others are &#8220;Look What You Made Me Do&#8221; (2017), &#8220;Anti-Hero&#8221; (2022), &#8220;Is It Over Now (Taylor&#8217;s Version&#8221; (2023), &#8220;Fortnight&#8221; (2024), &#8220;Opalite&#8221; (2025) and &#8220;The Fate of Ophelia&#8221; (2025). The list skews very heavily to the later part of her career, though there&#8217;s a degree of bad luck in there, since she had number 2 hits in 2009, 2012 and 2014.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Ariana Grande drops to number 3 in her second week, and &#8220;Rein Me In&#8221; is still hanging around at number 2. But&#8230; its numbers are down for the second week in a row, and there&#8217;s every chance that next week it\u00a0<em>finally<\/em> goes to downweighting in its 52nd week on the top 40. If so, it&#8217;ll be out of contention for a future return to number 1. It is, however, likely to set a record for the longest consecutive run in top 40. No, that&#8217;s not &#8220;Ordinary&#8221; by Alex Warren &#8211; it dropped out of the top 40 for a single week over Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>22. Alex Warren &#8211; &#8220;Passenger&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RGq8HhCxYrM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The third single from his upcoming album. It&#8217;s another upbeat track, so he is at least trying to spread out, though I wouldn&#8217;t say it&#8217;s much more than serviceable. He still has &#8220;Ordinary&#8221; at 29 and &#8220;Fever Dream&#8221; at 40; the midweeks have this dropping straight out of the top 40 in week two.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25. Alyssa Grace &#8211; &#8220;Bloodstream&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FOJ4A4wixDg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Chart debut. She&#8217;s from California and apparently she&#8217;s been big on TikTok for a while. It&#8217;s in the same vein as a few female singer-songwriter tracks from the last few years but I confess to finding her vocal style rather annoying. Again, the midweeks show this disappearing in week two.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27. Mac Miller featuring Ty Dolla Sign &#8211; &#8220;Cinderella&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FFamEq1PilQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is a 2016 track that&#8217;s picking up viral streams. It&#8217;s eight minutes long (it actually starts about two minutes into the 12-minute video above), so you can possibly understand why it wasn&#8217;t a hit the first time around. Miller died in 2018 at the age of 26; he never had any top 40 hit singles in the UK during his life, although he did make the album top 40 shortly before his death<\/p>\n<p><strong>32. Silva Bumpa &#8211; &#8220;On 2Nite&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y6_EAUSR080?si=B1SOnOm0r0GFibKS\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Debut hit. He&#8217;s a DJ from Sheffield and this is pretty good, actually. We seem to be seeing a few more dance tracks showing up in the top 40 this year. The vocals are sampled from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=k_C_nhzdNFI\">&#8220;Get It On Tonite&#8221; by Montell Jordan<\/a>, a 1999 single that didn&#8217;t chart in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Choosin&#8217; Texas&#8221; by Ella Langley<\/strong> climbs to number 12, eight weeks after it first reached number 15. It&#8217;s been hovering between 13 and 17 throughout that time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Free Your Mind&#8221; by Prospa &amp; Cloonee<\/strong> climbs 18-17.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The five tracks leaving the top 40 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;So Easy (To Fall in Love)&#8221; by Olivia Dean<\/strong>, after a 23 week run that peaked at number 2. She still has &#8220;Rein Me In&#8221; at number 2, but that&#8217;s really a feature on a Sam Fender track; and &#8220;Man I Need&#8221; is at 16.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;On the Floor&#8221; by Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull<\/strong>, after a single week at number 35.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Shabang&#8221; by Drake<\/strong>, which entered at 25 two weeks ago. To be fair to him, &#8220;Janice STFU&#8221; is holding up surprisingly well, at number 6 in its third week. &#8220;National Treasures&#8221; isn&#8217;t doing so well, but it&#8217;s still in the top 40 at 34.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Blessings&#8221; by Calvin Harris &amp; Clementine Douglas<\/strong>, which re-entered at 27 two weeks ago.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Stateside&#8221; by PinkPantheress<\/strong>, which re-entered at 38 two weeks ago.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the album chart:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Niall Horan &#8211; &#8220;Dinner Party&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qBHLmQcLqhI\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>His fourth solo album, and his third number 1. (His solo debut, &#8220;Flicker&#8221;, peaked at number 3.) None of the singles made the top 40; his hit single this year was &#8220;Drive Safe&#8221; with Myles Smith, but that&#8217;s not on the album. It&#8217;s here overwhelmingly on first week physical sales, so we can assume it&#8217;ll be gone next week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Overpass &#8211; &#8220;Elsewhere Always&#8221; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ufr3eFWczuY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Birmingham indie band; it&#8217;s their debut album.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Jeff Goldblum &amp; The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra &#8211; &#8220;Night Blooms&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CYiRfWfDleE\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>More jazz standards. It&#8217;s Goldblum&#8217;s fifth album under this name (there isn&#8217;t a &#8220;Mildred Snitzer&#8221; involved), and it&#8217;s his highest charting (by one place).<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. Evanescence &#8211; &#8220;Sanctuary&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mTduyC2zPXg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Their sixth album, spread over 23 years. All but one of them have made the top 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17. Pink Floyd &#8211; &#8220;8-Tracks&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WZUKJ90i6Tw\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Compilation of their 1970s material. Apparently the selling point for the serious Pink Floyd fan is the above version of &#8220;Pigs on the Wing&#8221; from the 1977 album &#8220;Animals&#8221;; in most formats the track is split into two parts to bookend the album, but this combined version was previously only available on 8-track cartridge. (Because the concept of bookending the album didn&#8217;t make sense on 8-track cartridges &#8211; they played in an endless loop.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>19. Malcolm Todd &#8211; &#8220;Do That Again&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fgmc595rao4\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>His second album and the first to chart in the UK. It doesn&#8217;t include the current hit &#8220;Earrings&#8221;, which comes from a 2024 mixtape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>24. Prospa &#8211; &#8220;Free Your Mind&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Their debut album, including the title track single (currently at 17).<\/p>\n<p><strong>29. Jalen Ngonda &#8211; &#8220;Doctrine of Love&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gUoGT6-RCDs\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Second album, first to chart. He&#8217;s from Maryland, but he&#8217;s based in England, and he&#8217;s basically a Motown throwback.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. Barry Manilow &#8211; &#8220;What a Time&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JOggThOrauk\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>His 33rd album; the previous one didn&#8217;t chart.
