Sam Fender &amp; Olivia Dean &#8211; &#8220;Rein Me In&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Twenty-one interminable weeks. It\u00a0<em>is<\/em> dropping off now that the publicity from breaking the record has passed, though, so it&#8217;s probably only a matter of time before it finally, finally, goes to ACR and gets removed from number 1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Madonna &amp; Kylie Minogue &#8211; &#8220;Love Sensation&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vZYXnlCiFss\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>With a combined age of over 125, this is the single remix of a track from Madonna&#8217;s recent album. Unusually, it&#8217;s here almost entirely on sales, and two thirds of those are CDs. The midweeks have it vanishing. Still, the track&#8217;s not bad at all, and it suits Kylie.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Kylie&#8217;s chart career dates back to 1988, and she had a number 1 hit just last year &#8211; admittedly with &#8220;XMAS&#8221;, but it still counts. Madonna hasn&#8217;t been this high up the chart since 2009, and it&#8217;s her 65th top 10 hit. That still leaves her short of Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley, but it&#8217;s impressive nonetheless.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23. Steve Lacy &#8211; &#8220;Oh Yeah&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yGHEis32s2Y\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another track charting on the back of its inclusion in\u00a0<em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day.<\/em> Lacy&#8217;s only other UK hit was &#8220;Bad Habit&#8221;, which reached number 8 in 2022. Perhaps more surprisingly, he&#8217;s yet to place an album in the UK top 40 either.<\/p>\n<p><strong>26. Sabrina Carpenter &#8211; &#8220;Espresso&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eVli-tstM5E?si=vbPRzFt8bBoaAsGA\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Bafflingly, a two-year anniversary reissue on coffee-filled vinyl. It looks&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/bad-world.co.uk\/products\/sc\">pretty dreadful, honestly<\/a>. And they&#8217;ve missed the actual two-year anniversary by about three months. Still, the fans bought it. It spend seven weeks at number 1 in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28. Ella Langley &#8211; &#8220;Be Her&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Dg47eNL_Usw\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is weird. This track has been out for months and has been languishing outside the top 40 for 18 weeks already, while &#8220;Choosin&#8217; Texas&#8221; continues to sit in the top 10. It&#8217;s at number 3 this week. But for some reason it now vaults 14 places to give her a second hit single. It&#8217;s not even her current single &#8211; that&#8217;s &#8220;Weren&#8217;t For The Wind&#8221;, which has been out for six weeks and is yet to get above number 81.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ofywN3NgGqY\"><strong>30. Sombr &#8211; &#8220;My Body Isn&#8217;t Ready&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a re-entry for the last Sombr single, which seemed to have underperformed &#8211; it entered at number 27 and left the chart after four weeks. For some reason, though, it&#8217;s promptly turned around and started climbing again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. Hugel &amp; Solto &#8211; &#8220;Jamaican (Bam Bam)&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hghqd1eBTYQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This has been out for nine months, but it&#8217;s receiving some spillover attention after Hugel&#8217;s &#8220;Movin&#8217; to the Sun&#8221; made the top 10 &#8211; it climbs to 4 this week. They&#8217;re both French producers. The track is essentially a remix of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yloB7FP8LoQ\">Sister Nancy&#8217;s &#8220;Bam Bam&#8221;<\/a>, a 1982 dancehall track that has been heavily sampled over the years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>39. Alex Warren &#8211; &#8220;Rescuer&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tVXXD7KXAec\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>More of the same, really. &#8220;Ordinary&#8221; is still hanging around in the top 20 after 78 weeks on the top 40, but the last couple of singles haven&#8217;t done so well &#8211; they reached 20 and 22 and neither lasted more than a fortnight in the top 40.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Choosin&#8217; Texas&#8221; by Ella Langley<\/strong> climbs 5-3.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Movin&#8217; To The Sun&#8221; by Hugel, Imael Angel &amp; Ultra Nat\u00e9\u00a0<\/strong>climbs 7-4.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Great Expectation&#8221; by Sienna Spiro<\/strong> climbs 10-7.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Loser&#8221; by Tame Impala\u00a0<\/strong>climbs 27-14.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Earrings&#8221; by Malcolm Todd<\/strong> climbs 20-15, six weeks after it first reached number 16. It&#8217;s been hovering between 15 and 20 since May.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Animal&#8221; by Katseye<\/strong> rebound 18-16 in its third week, returning to its entry position.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Bloodstream&#8221; by Alyssa Grace<\/strong> climbs 22-18.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Sign of the Times&#8221; by Harry Styles<\/strong> climbs 25-20, returning to a peak it previously reached in June.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Blessings&#8221; by Calvin Harris &amp; Clementine Douglas<\/strong> climbs 24-21.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Self Aware&#8221; by Temper City<\/strong> climbs 26-24.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Sue Me&#8221; by Audrey Hobert<\/strong> climbs 33-29.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are five new entries and three re-entries this week (the other re-entry is Olivia Dean at number 38). The tracks leaving the top 40 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;I Knew It, I Knew You&#8221; by Taylor Swift<\/strong>, which had two weeks at number 1 and lasted 9 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Kiss Me&#8221; by Ariana Grande<\/strong>, an album track which got a single week at number 1.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Wonderwall&#8221; by Oasis<\/strong>, which had a 7-week run on the back of the World Cup, peaking at number 2.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Die With A Smile&#8221; by Lady Gaga &amp; Bruno Mars<\/strong>, which re-entered three weeks ago and peaked at 28.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Dancing On My Own&#8221; by Robyn<\/strong>, which had two weeks as a re-entry, both at number 35.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Where the Wild Things Are&#8221; by Luke Combs<\/strong>, after a single week at number 37.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)&#8221; by Shakira featuring Freshlyground<\/strong>, somehow got a four week run, peaking at number 26, on the back of the World Cup, despite\u00a0 being very explicitly recorded for a different one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the album chart, it&#8217;s quite a busy week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. The Reytons &#8211; &#8220;A Love Letter To A Broken Town&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oh8not2Ibl4\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Their fourth studio album, and their second number one. I liked the single more than I expected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Flo &#8211; &#8220;Therapy At The Club&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pbIhE3XnmJQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Flo are an odd group &#8211; a girl band who seem to be intended for the singles chart, but somehow have made it to a second top 5 album despite never getting a single above number 38.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Role Model &#8211; &#8220;Chuck Timely &amp; The Hourglass&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D_KTG0BzRiI\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>US singer songwriter who&#8217;s on his third studio album; this is his first appearance in the UK album top 40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12. Overmono &#8211; &#8220;Pure Devotion&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sziy1zUF068\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Welsh electronic duo. It&#8217;s their second album, landing one place below its predecessor from three years ago. Interesting single.<\/p>\n<p><strong>26. Kylie Minogue &#8211; &#8220;X&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wL2HKKrY7sM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Kylie also has something of her own to promote this week: vinyl reissues of four of her albums. This is the only one to make the album top 40, but it&#8217;s also the only one that hasn&#8217;t been released on vinyl before. The album reached number 4 on release in 2007.<\/p>\n<p><strong>33. Man\/Woman\/Chainsaw &#8211; &#8220;Cannonball&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5J3nZT--jBc\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Debut album. They&#8217;re an indie band from London, and sound nothing whatsoever like the name would suggest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>38.
