29 March 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just four new entries &#8211; one major release, one coming too late\u00a0in the week to have a serious impact, and two\u00a0that probably won&#8217;t be around long.<\/p>\n<p><strong>30. \u00a0KSI featuring P-Money &#8211; &#8220;Lamborghini&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/708mjaHTwKc?rel=0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->UK rappers are terribly\u00a0keen on cars these days, aren&#8217;t they? \u00a0KSI is Olajide Olatunji,\u00a0and he&#8217;s a YouTuber who&#8217;s branched out into rap. \u00a0Originally, his thing was videos commentating on FIFA games,\u00a0and his channel has over 8.5 million subscribers. \u00a0Then he moved into football-themed rap battles. \u00a0This, however, is not a novelty record; it&#8217;s a genuine\u00a0move into regular rap, released on Sway&#8217;s label. \u00a0First top 40 appearance for both KSI and his guest P Money (who&#8217;s been around for years).<\/p>\n<p><strong>29. \u00a0Rihanna &#8211; &#8220;Bitch Better Have My Money&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A low key midweek release, not officially available on\u00a0YouTube, and not presently on Spotify either. \u00a0Even allowing for that, you might have expected that a new Rihanna single could do better than scrape the bottom end of the top 30. \u00a0Mind you, it&#8217;s not as instant as &#8220;FourFiveSeconds&#8221;, and the &#8220;I have lots of money and I would like you to give me more&#8221; lyrical theme\u00a0may not have quite the same universal appeal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9Sc-ir2UwGU\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>22. \u00a0Kygo featuring Conrad &#8211; &#8220;Firestone&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Climbing 15, as expected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12. \u00a0Sigma featuring Labrinth &#8211; &#8220;Higher&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Xv2SCjuuGt8?rel=0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A bit of a comedown for Sigma after their last two singles both went to number 1\u00a0last year (&#8220;Nobody to Love&#8221; and &#8220;Changing&#8221;). \u00a0Intriguingly, the\u00a0writing credits on this track go to Peter Kelleher, Ben Kohn, Tom Hull, and Wayne Hector &#8211;\u00a0a list which includes neither Sigma nor Labrinth. \u00a0Tom Hull, also known as Kid Harpoon,\u00a0is a songwriter who&#8217;s\u00a0contributed\u00a0to Florence &amp; The Machine; the other three are the production trio TMS, who also share production credit. \u00a0Despite Sigma being producers already. \u00a0In fact, TMS were also co-credited as writers and producers on Sigma&#8217;s previous hit &#8220;Changing&#8221;. \u00a0The other Sigma hit, you may recall, was basically a bootleg\u00a0remix of &#8220;Bound 2&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Jess Glynne &#8211; &#8220;Hold My Hand&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cLyUcAUMmMY?rel=0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Jess Glynne has had two previous number ones as a guest on\u00a0Clean Bandit&#8217;s &#8220;Rather Be&#8221;\u00a0and Route 94&#8217;s &#8220;My Love&#8221;, both last year. \u00a0She had two other hits last year, with her own &#8220;Right Here&#8221; getting to 6, and another Clean Bandit collaboration, &#8220;Real Love&#8221;, making\u00a02. \u00a0All of which leaves her well placed to kick off 2015 with her first solo number one. \u00a0The association with Clean\u00a0Bandit continues, though, since this is\u00a0produced and co-written by\u00a0their member\u00a0Jack Patterson. \u00a0So if you&#8217;ve ever wondered what Clean Bandit would sound like if they didn&#8217;t have to shoehorn the strings in, this may be your answer.<\/p>\n<p>On the album chart:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Chaos and the Calm&#8221; by James Bay<\/strong>\u00a0enters at 1. \u00a0The single &#8220;Hold Back The River&#8221; climbs to 2 (in its 18th week on chart).<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Sonic Soul Surfer&#8221; by Seasick Steve<\/strong> at 4. \u00a0Seasick Steve is a blues singer in his 70s, not that he sounds it, and this is his fourth top 10 album &#8211; though oddly\u00a0they come at scattered points in his\u00a0catalogue. \u00a0Single: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Gq0PmDhkb4c\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Summertime Boy&#8221;<\/a>. \u00a0(It&#8217;s good, and yes, that&#8217;s him surfing in the video.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Short Movie&#8221; by Laura Marling<\/strong> at 7. \u00a0Nominated for the Mercury three times, and this is her fourth consecutive top 10 album. \u00a0Single: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SQA2Z9oDmgM\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;I Feel Your Love&#8221;<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;For All My Sisters&#8221; by The Cribs<\/strong> at 9. \u00a0Guitar band who used to have Johnny Marr as a member, though not since 2011. \u00a0Lower end of the top 10 is their usual level. \u00a0Single: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/A-SANFfXDvQ\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Burning for No One&#8221;<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;If I Was&#8221; by The Staves<\/strong> at 14. \u00a0Chart debut for a folk group comprising three sisters from Hertfordshire. \u00a0Single: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/JgHpHv7CQz0\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Blood I Bled&#8221;<\/a>. \u00a0Worth a click.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Sometimes I Sit\u00a0and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit&#8221; by Courtney Barnett<\/strong> at 16. \u00a0Singer songwriter from Melbourne, debut album. \u00a0Single: <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/1NVOawOXxSA\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Depreston&#8221;<\/a>. \u00a0(Which, again, quite good in a deadpan kind of way.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Kiss Me Once: Live&#8221; by Kylie Minogue<\/strong> at 26. \u00a0Self-explanatory.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks&#8221; by Joe Bonamassa<\/strong> at 27. \u00a0Blues singer. \u00a0His studio albums usually make the top 10, but his (plentiful) live albums generally land around here.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Brainwashed&#8221; by While She Sleeps<\/strong> at 29. \u00a0Metalcore.
