{"id":4239,"date":"2018-08-04T20:11:07","date_gmt":"2018-08-04T19:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.housetoastonish.com\/?p=4239"},"modified":"2018-08-04T20:11:07","modified_gmt":"2018-08-04T19:11:07","slug":"charts-3-august-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.housetoastonish.com\/?p=4239","title":{"rendered":"Charts &#8211; 3 August 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Um&#8230; well, there&#8217;s some stuff happening lower down the album chart&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Drake &#8211; &#8220;In My Feelings&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DRS_PpOrUZ4\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Three weeks &#8211; and look, it has a video now! \u00a0A video which is eight minutes long, more than twice the length of the song. \u00a0So you know it&#8217;s important. \u00a0The album &#8220;Scorpion&#8221; is still at 3, and the other two singles are at 13 and 28. \u00a0This heads up a static top three and a moribund top ten, except for&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. \u00a0DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance The Rapper &#8211; &#8220;No Brainer&#8221;<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kxloC1MKTpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Not quite the only new entry this week, but it&#8217;s getting there. \u00a0Well, at least it&#8217;s a high one. \u00a0DJ Khaled reunites the guests from his 2017 number one &#8220;I&#8217;m The One&#8221;, minus Lil Wayne, who must have had something on. \u00a0Precisely what DJ Khaled actually\u00a0<em>does<\/em> on his records has always been a little ambiguous, but he seems to be primarily a &#8220;producer&#8221; in the impresario sense, rather than the DJ sense.\u00a0 Also, he shouts &#8220;DJ Khaled&#8221;, and you really can&#8217;t do that unless you\u00a0<em>are<\/em> DJ Khaled. \u00a0It would just sound odd. \u00a0On this song, he also says &#8220;Put &#8217;em high&#8221;. \u00a0The track itself is above average 2018 radio pop, but not much more than that.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; told you it was a quiet week. \u00a0For our next new entry, we drop all the way from 4 to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>38. \u00a0 Stay Flee Get Lizzy featuring Fredo, Young T &amp; Bugsey &#8211; &#8220;Ay Caramba&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DNlf3QQnB60\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s one for the &#8220;So It&#8217;s Come To This&#8221; file: a song credited to a clothing brand, with the actual artists listed under &#8220;featuring&#8221;. \u00a0Seriously? \u00a0It&#8217;s actually a Toddla T production, and as a piece of music it&#8217;s really pretty good. \u00a0The video is generic bikini stuff, which seems odd if the purpose of the exercise is to sell clothes.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Taste&#8221; by Tyga featuring Offset<\/strong> climbs 15-11.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Only You&#8221; by Cheat Codes &amp; Little<\/strong> Mix climbs 16-14.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Ring Ring&#8221; by Jax Jones featuring Mabel &amp; Rich The Kid<\/strong> edges up another place to 16.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Fefe&#8221; by 6ix9nine featuring Nicki Minaj &amp; Murda Beatz<\/strong> leaps from 35 to 17, probably on the Nicki Minaj connection. \u00a0That&#8217;s our highest climber, though not by much.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Body&#8221; by Loud Luxury featuring Brando<\/strong> climbs 26-19.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Eastside&#8221; by Benny Blanco featuring Halsey &amp; Khalid<\/strong>\u00a0climbs 40-23, just slightly smaller than the &#8220;Fefe&#8221; climb.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;High Hopes&#8221; by Panic at the Disco<\/strong> climbs 37-34.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Panic Room&#8221; by Au\/ra &amp; Camelphat<\/strong> climbs 38-35.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;079Me&#8221; by B Young<\/strong> climbs 39-37.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Over on the album chart,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Mamma Mia &#8211; Here We Go Again&#8221;<\/strong>&#8216;s soundtrack is still at number 1, atop a stationary top five.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. \u00a0Halestorm &#8211; &#8220;Vicious&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/taanowedKoY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re from Pennsylvania and this is their fourth album. \u00a0It&#8217;s the second to make the top 10; &#8220;Into the Wild Life&#8221; reached number 10. \u00a0It&#8217;s had decent reviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong>13. \u00a0Catherine McGrath &#8211; &#8220;Talk of this Town&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0jthxxaFP_E\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Country music from Northern Ireland. \u00a0Warner Brothers are clearly serious about her, as they&#8217;ve brought out the usual range of radio-pop country collaborators here. \u00a0The single above (which actually came out ten months ago) certainly has some obvious crossover appeal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>14. \u00a0Daughtry &#8211; &#8220;Cage to Rattle&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DbZycheCVv0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is odd. \u00a0Daughtry is the band of Chris Daughtry, who was on\u00a0<em>American Idol<\/em> back in 2006. \u00a0Their debut album managed a week at number 13 back in 2007, and a single called &#8220;What About Now&#8221; reached number 11 in 2009, but that&#8217;s been it for them until now &#8211; three further albums missed the top 10. \u00a0Mind you, they&#8217;ve been away for five years, so this is something of a relaunch project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. \u00a0All Saints &#8211; &#8220;Testament&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qJZ3QmVF5eM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s an original All Saints studio album. \u00a0They reformed after a decade for 2016&#8217;s &#8220;Red Flag&#8221;, which reached number 3, and which I&#8217;d completely forgotten about. \u00a0Number 15 is perfectly respectable for a veteran act like them, and the single above really is rather good (particularly once it gets to the middle eight).<\/p>\n<p><strong>20. \u00a0Underworld &amp; Iggy Pop &#8211; &#8220;Teatime Dub Encounters&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KmJWD9jQvhc\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Officially an EP, but it ticks the boxes to qualify for the artist album chart. \u00a0In fact, Underworld&#8217;s 2016 album &#8220;Barbara Barbara We Face A Shining Future&#8221; reached number 10 &#8211; but maybe that was an exception. \u00a0Yet who wouldn&#8217;t want an album of Iggy Pop doing monologues over Underworld instrumentals?
