22 March 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s some sea shanties further down, if you like that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bCuhuePlP8o&amp;frags=pl%2Cwn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>1. \u00a0Lewis Capaldi &#8211; &#8220;Someone You Loved&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Four weeks, and his streams are still growing, so we could be here a while. \u00a0The top three is static, and <strong>&#8220;Just You And I&#8221; by Tom Walker<\/strong> climbs 10-4. \u00a0That overtakes last year&#8217;s &#8220;Leave a Light On&#8221; to be his biggest hit. \u00a0(Well, bigger. \u00a0He&#8217;s only had two.) \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Sucker&#8221; by the Jonas Brothers\u00a0<\/strong>rebounds to a new peak of 5, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Location&#8221; by Dave featuring Burna Boy<\/strong> climbs 11-8. \u00a0The other two tracks that charted from the album drop to 10 and 13, but it&#8217;s still pretty impressive to place three tracks so high, two weeks running. \u00a0<strong>Sigrid&#8217;s &#8220;Don&#8217;t Feel Like Crying&#8221;<\/strong> climbs 20-15&#8230; oh, hold on, that&#8217;s got a video now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. \u00a0Sigrid &#8211; &#8220;Don&#8217;t Feel Like Crying&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w5x93pXSmRM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Well, that was minimal, wasn&#8217;t it? \u00a0This is starting to grow on me, though.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Boasty&#8221; by Wiley x Stefflon Don x Sean Paul featuring Idris Elba<\/strong>, which is apparently the full official credit that won&#8217;t fit on the official web page, climbs 33-22.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23. \u00a0Marshmello featuring CHVRCHES &#8211; &#8220;Here With Me&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HHnjuUVgSJ4\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Rather depressingly, this is only the second time CHVRCHES have appeared on the singles chart &#8211; and the first was way back in 2013, when &#8220;The Mother We Share&#8221; managed two weeks at number 38. \u00a0It&#8217;s a good single, mind you, and they turn out to be a decent fit. \u00a0There&#8217;s a Spotify vertical video for this, but it&#8217;s not officially meant to be on YouTube, so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>30. \u00a0Ava Max &#8211; &#8220;So Am I&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SxGLPVvNjvY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to &#8220;Sweet But Psycho&#8221;, quickly striking Ava Max&#8217;s name off the one-hit wonders list. \u00a0It&#8217;s a bit on the nose, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>38. \u00a0Lizzo &#8211; &#8220;Juice&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XaCrQL_8eMY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Melissa Jefferson has been releasing solo singles since 2013, she&#8217;s on her third album, and she&#8217;s been in some indie hip hop groups too, but this is the first time she&#8217;s had anything approaching a hit. \u00a0It&#8217;s great, and the still they&#8217;ve selected for the video isn&#8217;t particularly representative. \u00a0This is worth a play.<\/p>\n<p>Over on the album chart&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Jack Savoretti &#8211; &#8220;Singing to Strangers&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fE37p70UV0I\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; it&#8217;s singer-songwriter time again. \u00a0This is Jack Savoretti&#8217;s sixth album, but only the previous two made the chart. \u00a0They made the top 10, though, so it&#8217;s not entirely surprising that he&#8217;s managed to get a number one in a relatively quiet week for new album releases. \u00a0He&#8217;s&#8230; cinematically smooth, but he does have a niche.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. \u00a0Sophie Ellis-Bextor &#8211; &#8220;The Song Diaries&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xEhneRD1cwM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is &#8211; you guessed it &#8211; a greatest hits album\u00a0<em>but\u00a0<\/em><em>with an orchestra<\/em>. \u00a0How much that really adds to something like &#8220;Take Me Home&#8221;, I&#8217;m a bit sceptical, but that&#8217;s the one that has a video. \u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=knA60E-KD2g&amp;frags=pl%2Cwn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The version of &#8220;A Pessimist is Never Disappointed&#8221;<\/a> is a bit more convincing.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>19. \u00a0Cinematic Orchestra &#8211; &#8220;To Believe&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o-aH1qXU67I\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Cinematic Orchestra are a jazz\/hip hop group who never seem to have officially split, but nonetheless haven&#8217;t released an album in twelve years. \u00a0This is the first time they&#8217;ve reached the top 40. \u00a0You might know their 2007 single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oUFJJNQGwhk&amp;frags=pl%2Cwn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;To Build A Home&#8221;<\/a>, which didn&#8217;t chart either, but does show up in Very Moving Scenes on soundtracks sometimes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20. \u00a0Joanne Shaw Taylor &#8211; &#8220;Reckless Heart&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iAkmtOGTX4A\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Shaw Taylor was the presenter of ITV&#8217;s proto-<em>Crimewatch<\/em> slot <em>Police 5<\/em>, which I remember seeing on regional English TV when visiting my grandparents in the 1980s. \u00a0He has nothing whatever to do with Joanne Shaw Taylor, who is a blues guitarist. \u00a0This is her second album to chart, landing one place below 2016&#8217;s &#8220;Wild&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>27. \u00a0Fisherman&#8217;s Friends &#8211; &#8220;Keep Hauling &#8211; OST&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FkNwhbyiA4Y\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Well, this is a bit different. \u00a0The Fisherman&#8217;s Friends are a group of fishermen from Port Isaac who sing sea shanties. \u00a0They unexpectedly had a top 10 album in 2010 (you have to hunt for it on the chart website because it&#8217;s listed under &#8220;Port Isaac&#8217;s Fisherman&#8217;s Friends&#8221;), and now there&#8217;s a film, and they&#8217;re on the soundtrack of the film about themselves, and&#8230; here we are again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>29. \u00a0UB40 &#8211; &#8220;For The Many&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WYgDAEe6r-Y\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The nineteenth album from the English reggae veterans has chosen its title to express support for the Labour Party.
