12 July 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh good, movement!<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. \u00a0Shawn Mendes &amp; Camila Cabello &#8211; &#8220;Senorita&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pkh8UtuejGw\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This has spent two weeks stuck at number 2 behind Ed Sheeran, and it&#8217;s pretty good &#8211; it&#8217;s kind of Latin by numbers, but it&#8217;s got a real lightness of touch to it. \u00a0It&#8217;s the second number one for both singers &#8211; in Shawn Mendes&#8217; case, it comes four years after &#8220;Stitches&#8221;, while Cabello&#8217;s previous number one was 2017&#8217;s &#8220;Havana.&#8221; \u00a0(Cabello&#8217;s other current single, &#8220;Find U Again&#8221; with Mark Ronson, is still down at 31.) \u00a0<!--more-->Don&#8217;t feel too bad for Ed Sheeran, he still has three songs in the top ten &#8211; &#8220;I Don&#8217;t Care&#8221; at 2, &#8220;Beautiful People&#8221; at 3, and &#8220;Cross Me&#8221; at 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. \u00a0Post Malone featuring Young Thug &#8211; &#8220;Goodbyes&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ba7mB8oueCY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>(Caution: this is the full version of the video, and the opening is quite violent.)<\/p>\n<p>Young Thug was on &#8220;Havana&#8221;, which is a nice little link for us. \u00a0As for &#8220;Goodbyes&#8221;, it&#8217;s a Post Malone single much like any other; he doesn&#8217;t write a bad chorus, but god that voice processing annoys me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11. \u00a0Mist featuring Fredo &#8211; &#8220;So High&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/V3yf1AHwxGc\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Mist is a rapper from Birmingham, and this is his second hit &#8211; the first was &#8220;Game Changer,&#8221; which managed a week at 35 last year. \u00a0Fredo&#8217;s more familiar; this is his sixth top 40 appearance, including guesting on Dave&#8217;s number one &#8220;Freaky Friday&#8221;. \u00a0The uncredited vocal hook is from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wIgOL21S98o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toni Braxton&#8217;s &#8220;You&#8217;re Makin&#8217; Me High&#8221;<\/a>, a top 10 hit in 1996.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;3 Nights&#8221; by Dominic Fike<\/strong> climbs 20-19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20. \u00a0D-Block Europe &#8211; &#8220;Home P*ssy&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9HP5Xj8mjZY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to &#8220;Kitchen Kings&#8221;, which reached number 16 in February. \u00a0It&#8217;s pretty much what the title might lead you to expect. \u00a0And just to be clear, that&#8217;s the official title, with the asterisk &#8211; it&#8217;s not the chart compilers censoring it, that&#8217;s how it&#8217;s listed on Spotify too. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Strike A Pose&#8221; by Young T &amp; Bugsey featuring Aitch<\/strong> climbs 22-21, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Higher Love&#8221; by Kygo &amp; Whitney Houston\u00a0<\/strong>climbs 36-26. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Mother&#8217;s Daughter&#8221; by Miley Cyrus<\/strong>, which entered at 31 five weeks ago and has been hanging around the thirties ever since, finally reached number 29 &#8211; probably helped by the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7T2RonyJ_Ts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it has a video now<\/a>.\u00a0This being Miley Cyrus, that video is Trying A Bit Hard, but the actual song is one of her best singles, so hopefully it&#8217;ll go further now that it&#8217;s getting pushed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. \u00a0Freya Ridings &#8211; &#8220;Castles&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H-3rxh8kZHE\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A final single in advance of her self-title debut album, which in the way of such things includes singles going back all the way to 2017. \u00a0Her big hit was last year&#8217;s &#8220;Lost Without You&#8221;, which reached number 9 and spent 28 weeks in the top 40 &#8211; but the follow-up &#8220;You Mean The World To Me&#8221; missed the top 40, so there will be some relief over this. \u00a0It&#8217;s quite good once it gets going.<\/p>\n<p><strong>36. \u00a0Dave &amp; AJ Tracey &#8211; &#8220;Thiago Silva&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OQTsZGvVUbs\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ah. \u00a0This is a three-year-old Dave track which is here because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=e1vlLJCr9Lo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dave&#8217;s Glastonbury performance<\/a> &#8211; with a teenager from the crown who turned out to be unexpectedly good &#8211; went viral. \u00a0That video isn&#8217;t staged, but it isn&#8217;t\u00a0<em>quite<\/em> as spontaneous as some of the news coverage tries to suggest. \u00a0Apparently, Dave regularly gets someone out of the audience to do AJ Tracey&#8217;s part in &#8220;Thiago Silva&#8221;, and since he needs someone who really does know the words, picking the enthusiastic kid who&#8217;s at the front wearing a Thiago Silva shirt is a comparatively safe bet. \u00a0As one of the top comments on YouTube says, &#8220;Win win. \u00a0Dave gets most viral clip of Glastonbury 2019. \u00a0Alex gets to do what he rehearsed in the shower.&#8221; \u00a0Meanwhile, AJ Tracey&#8217;s current single <strong>&#8220;Ladbroke Grove&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0climbs 16-12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>37. \u00a0Lizzo &#8211; &#8220;Truth Hurts&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P00HMxdsVZI\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Not quite the follow-up to &#8220;Juice&#8221;, which inexplicably only managed a single week at number 38 earlier in the year. \u00a0It had a resurgence of interest this year because Netflix used it on a film soundtrack. \u00a0Meanwhile, Lizzo actually has a new album to promote, but you&#8217;re listening to this instead&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Over on the album chart,\u00a0<strong>Lewis Capaldi&#8217;s &#8220;Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong>returns to number one for a sixth non-consecutive week. \u00a0Below, it&#8217;s a quiet week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. \u00a0The Lighthouse Family &#8211; &#8220;Blue Sky in Your Head&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P7dDmVi3bS0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I never much cared for the Lighthouse Family in their first run at the turn of the century. \u00a0This is a reunion album after an 18 year gap, and not much has changed. \u00a0Their highest-placed album remains 1997&#8217;s &#8220;Postcards from Heaven.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. \u00a0The Spice Girls &#8211; &#8220;Greatest Hits&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9wfpXI5PKlw\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been reissued on picture-disc vinyl. \u00a0And if that doesn&#8217;t tell you how low the album chart sales are these days&#8230;. well. \u00a0Finally,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;One Wave&#8221;
