“No 5 Collaborations Project” was self-released in 2011 and reached number 46. It’s Sheeran’s fourth consecutive number one album and chances are it’s going to be around for a while to come.

With 70.2 million track streams, it would have dominated the singles chart if it was still allowed to, but of course the chart rules were changed to stop that kind of thing when Ed Sheeran did it in 2017. So only three tracks from the album are allowed in. “Beautiful People”, with Khalid, climbs to the top after two weeks sitting at number 3. It knocks off Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “Senorita”, which only got a single week at the top. If you’re keeping track, this is Khalid’s second number one (after Benny Blanco’s “Eastside”) and Ed Sheeran’s seventh. The others are “Sing”, “Thinking Out Loud”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”, “River and “I Don’t Care.”

That last one, of course, was number one only two weeks ago – but it doesn’t make the top three tracks this week, in part because it’s hit the tipping point to be downweighted as an older single. So it just vanishes from the charts, with a chart record of 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-nowhere. This is rather silly, but people tend not to notice records vanishing when they’re on the way down, and thus far it hasn’t happened enough to prompt any tinkering with the rules.

The promotional single “Cross Me” rebounds to 4, and the only new entry is “Take Me Back to London”, the Stormzy track. The midweeks suggested that we’d also be getting the Eminem/50 Cent track (which is absolutely wretched), but evidently it just missed out. “Take Me Back to London” is rather better, but it’s still hardly the most inspired work for either artist.

Right, uninteresting string of climbers… “Ladbroke Grove” by AJ Tracey climbs 12-6, to become his biggest hit, and his first top ten as a lead artist. “So High” by Mist featuring Fredo climbs 11-7. “Wish You Well” by Sigala & Becky Hill edges up to 8 after two weeks stuck at 9. “Location” by Dave featuring Burna Boy rebounds from 38 to 13 after the release of its video, which seems pointless at this stage, since it already had seven weeks in the top 10 and peaked at number 6 back in March. (Apparently the video is footage of a festival he promoted in Ibiza. Judged purely as a video, it’s kind of forgettable.) “3 Nights” by Dominic Fike climbs 19-15, and “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish rebounds 23-16 – its highest position in a month – because they released a remix with Justin Bieber. And “Higher Love” by Kygo & Whitney Houston climbs 25-17.

18. Krept & Konan featuring Headie One and K-Trap – “I Spy”

This is Krept & Konan’s highest place since their debut hit “Freak of the Week” made the top 10 in 2015. Headie One’s only previous hit was “18Hunna”, which made number 6 at the start of the year, but had the advantage of a guest verse by Dave. K-Trap gets his second hit single, and they’ve both come from guesting on Krept & Konan tracks. He’s only recently ditched his mask, and he still looks kind of uncomfortable now that he has to do facial expressions. (Or rather, now that he visibly doesn’t.)

“Strike A Pose” by Young T & Bugsey featuring Aitch climbs 21-19, “Castles” by Freya Ridings moves 34-26, and “Find U Again” by Mark Ronson featuring Camila Cabello climbs one place to finally reach number 30 in its fourth week on chart.

37. Remedee featuring Not3s and Young Adz –
