2 August 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How thoughtful! \u00a0I am busy, and this can be short!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Pkh8UtuejGw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>1. \u00a0Shawn Mendes &amp; Camila Cabello &#8211; &#8220;Senorita&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three weeks in total. \u00a0There&#8217;s not much more to say about that, and&#8230; um, pretty much nothing going on in the singles top 40. \u00a0As in, no new entries. \u00a0At all. \u00a0None. \u00a0So, climbers, then:\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Ladbroke Grove&#8221; by AJ Tracey<\/strong> reaches a new peak of 4. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;3 Nights&#8221; by Dominic Fike<\/strong> reaches the top 10, climbing to 8. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Higher Love&#8221; by Kygo &amp; Whitney Houston<\/strong> climbs 15-10, which puts Kygo back in the top 10 for the first time in two years, and the late Whitney Houston for the first time since 2009.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;How Do You Sleep&#8221; by Sam Smith<\/strong> climbs 12-11, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Sorry&#8221; by Joel Corry<\/strong> climbs 38-21 &#8211; apparently they&#8217;ve been hammering it on\u00a0<em>Love Island<\/em>. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Ransom&#8221; by Lil Tecca<\/strong> climbs 40-23, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Ritual&#8221; by Tiesto, Jonas Blue &amp; Rita Ora<\/strong> moves 28-26. \u00a0<strong>&#8220;Hate Me&#8221; by Ellie Goulding &amp; Juice Wrld<\/strong> is 36-33, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Truth Hurts&#8221; by Lizzo<\/strong> moves 39-34. \u00a0And that&#8217;s it. \u00a0That&#8217;s the singles chart.<\/p>\n<p>On the album chart,\u00a0<strong>Ed Sheeran&#8217;s &#8220;No 6 Collaborations Project&#8221; <\/strong>has a third week at number one, and our highest new entry is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. \u00a0The Kaiser Chiefs &#8211; &#8220;Duck&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ulZjajyNjVA\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->They may have drifted off your radar, but this is their seventh studio album in a fourteen year chart career, all of which have made the top 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. \u00a0NF &#8211; &#8220;The Search&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fnlJw9H0xAM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Oh, this guy. \u00a0This is the rapper who started off on a Christian label and managed the rare trick of escaping to the mainstream. \u00a0He had a top ten hit in 2017 with &#8220;Let You Down&#8221;, but this is the first we&#8217;ve heard of him since. \u00a0Boy, he&#8217;s not kidding when he says he&#8217;s influenced by Eminem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>11. \u00a0Dualers &#8211; &#8220;Palm Trees and 80 Degrees&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EgYE9YGGAjQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Dualers are a London ska band who&#8217;ve been around forever, but their mostly self-released albums haven&#8217;t charted before. \u00a0They did place a couple of singles in the mid-20s way back in 2004-5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. \u00a0Of Monsters &amp; Men &#8211; &#8220;Fever Dream&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ThrK0Re1lJs\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Icelandic indie band best known for their 2012 hit &#8220;Little Talks&#8221;, though all their albums since then have placed at about this level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>16. \u00a0Burna Boy &#8211; &#8220;African Giant&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/so4dgTRaWFk\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer on his fourth album, but now getting more of an international push from Warner Music. \u00a0He guested on a recent Dave single, which was his first chart appearance in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>And finally, in this very underwhelming week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>17. \u00a0Chance The Rapper &#8211; &#8220;The Big Day&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UBuYLw3GUdE\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the wonder of mixtapes, this is technically Chance the Rapper&#8217;s debut album, even though he&#8217;s been active since 2012. \u00a0It&#8217;s also his first appearance on the album chart. \u00a0Chance&#8217;s name helpfully distinguishes him from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chance_(band)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the country band<\/a> that folded in 1988, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chance_Records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the record label<\/a> that folded in 1954, or <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chance_(comics)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the girl from Fallen Angels<\/a>. \u00a0(Why has nobody used her again&#8230;?)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How thoughtful! \u00a0I am busy, and this can be short! 1. \u00a0Shawn Mendes &amp;
