Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion &#8211; &#8220;WAP&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three weeks, though it was fairly close this time around. The top four is static, and there&#8217;s not much going on at the top end of the chart aside from a bunch of minor climbers. <strong>&#8220;Looking for Me&#8221; by Paul Woolford &amp; Diplo featuring Kareen Lomax<\/strong> climbs 8-5. <strong>&#8220;Take You Dancing&#8221; by Jason Derulo<\/strong> climbs 11-9, giving him consecutive top ten hits for the first time since 2016. <strong>&#8220;Tick Tock&#8221; by Clean Bandit &amp; Mabel featuring 24KGolden<\/strong> climbs 14-12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14. S1mba featuring KSI &#8211; &#8220;Loose&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jZH3K2KHzfk\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Follow-up to &#8220;Rover&#8221;, which reached number 3 in the spring. Feels like a record that would have been better suited as a summer party track, and September is a bit late for it, but we&#8217;ll see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Lemonade&#8221; by Internet Money featuring Don Toliver, Gunna &amp; NAV<\/strong> climbs an impressive 36-16, which make it the biggest hit for all involved &#8211; not saying much for Toliver and NAV, but more significant for Gunna. <strong>&#8220;Giants&#8221; by Dermot Kennedy<\/strong> climbs 22-18. Nothing at all is happening in the 20s &#8211; though we do have the unusual statistical quirk of numbers 27 to 30 all being non-movers. <strong>&#8220;Hallucinate&#8221; by Dua Lipa<\/strong> continues its slow progress, climbing 33-31. And the only other new entry this week is&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>39. Saweetie &#8211; &#8220;Tap In&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jUIrolORx6M\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s her debut hit, and it&#8217;s lightweight but quite fun. The beat is basically sampled from the 2008 single <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CBJtzEKetBM\">&#8220;Blow the Whistle&#8221; by Too Short<\/a>, which wasn&#8217;t a hit in this country &#8211; though they&#8217;ve punched it up a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the album chart&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Doves &#8211; &#8220;The Universal Want&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Q02PXRTMus4\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The first new Doves album in 11 years is their third number one, following 2002&#8217;s &#8220;The Last Broadcast&#8221; and 2005&#8217;s &#8220;Some Cities&#8221;. Doves are an unusual example of a band who had a previous incarnation with the same line-up but a completely different name and style, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pRguEi3wufQ\">having reached number 3 on the singles chart in 1993 as a dance act under the name Sub Sub.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Everything Everything &#8211; &#8220;Re-Animator&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LVrDAmH_kPQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything Everything have released five albums, three of which have peaked at number five. They like the number five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7. Marilyn Manson &#8211; &#8220;We Are Chaos&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lQJFP1INGxs\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Exactly the same position as his last album, three years ago. Marilyn Manson has been around for a quarter century now and has settled into a niche on the album charts. The single is, at least, aiming for something more than shock factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>17. The Flaming Lips &#8211; &#8220;American Head&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DgWaChX1cno\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s the highest position for a Flaming Lips album since &#8220;At War With the Mystics&#8221; back in 2006 &#8211; in fact, most of their albums since then have missed the top 40 altogether, with 2019&#8217;s &#8220;King&#8217;s Mouth&#8221; only reaching number 78. I&#8217;m not quite sure why this album has suddenly got them back into the chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>31. Roachford &#8211; &#8220;Twice in a Lifetime&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z5EwTyJJgWA\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The first solo album for Andrew Roachford since 2000, so number 31&#8217;s not so bad. He hasn&#8217;t been entirely inactive in that time &#8211; he joined Mike &amp; The Mechanics in 2010, and they&#8217;ve had a couple of top ten albums over the last few years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Very, very quiet&#8230; 1.
