Calvin Harris &amp; Ellie Goulding &#8211; &#8220;Miracle&#8221;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s eight weeks, so it ties with &#8220;One Kiss&#8221; as Calvin Harris&#8217;s longest-reigning number one. Goulding broke her record a few weeks back. It&#8217;s been on the chart for a total of 12 weeks now. <strong>&#8220;Daylight&#8221; by David Kushner<\/strong> is a non-mover at 2 &#8211; it&#8217;s now spent a total of five weeks stuck behind &#8220;Miracle&#8221;. Perhaps more surprisingly, number 3 is\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Calm Down&#8221; by Rema<\/strong>, which has been in the top 10 for 24 weeks now, and has been on the top 40 since September. I haven&#8217;t mentioned it in a while because it reached number 4 for the first time back in March &#8211; and thus hasn&#8217;t achieved a new peak since, until now &#8211; but it&#8217;s huge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12. Taylor Swift &#8211; &#8220;Karma&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>18. Taylor Swift &#8211; &#8220;Hits Different&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>24. Taylor Swift featuring Lana Del Rey &#8211; &#8220;Snow on the Beach&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XzOvgu3GPwY\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Taylor Swift is so big that she can get three tracks into the top 40 on the release of the\u00a0<em>deluxe edition<\/em> of an album from six months ago. Who does that?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Karma&#8221; is a proper single, being promoted in a new mix with Ice Spice. Not sure they&#8217;re a natural pairing, but it&#8217;s fine. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=7bnwbisTKAM\">&#8220;Hits Different&#8221;<\/a> is the token completely new track.\u00a0&#8220;Snow on the Beach&#8221; reached number 4 as an album track on release back in November, but the deluxe edition has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zQim0-Abg3A\">a new mix, solemnly described as &#8220;featuring More Lana Del Rey&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The parent album&#8230; er, rebounds from 10 to 2, because it&#8217;s a Taylor Swift album and it never went away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. J Hus &#8211; &#8220;It&#8217;s Crazy&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xnKbJwGjXAQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is his first single in three years. This is fairly typical for his singles chart positions, so it looks like not much has changed during the gap.<\/p>\n<p><strong>20. Dua Lipa &#8211; &#8220;Dance the Night&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OiC1rgCPmUQ\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>From the\u00a0<em>Barbie<\/em> soundtrack. It&#8217;s actually a straight disco track which sounds much like any other Dua Lipa single &#8211; which is to say, it&#8217;s perfectly good, but the video feels a bit unsure about how far it wants to commit to the\u00a0<em>Barbie\u00a0<\/em>schtick and how far it wants to just be a Dua Lipa video.<\/p>\n<p><strong>25. Tina Turner &#8211; &#8220;The Best&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>35. Tina Turner &#8211; &#8220;What&#8217;s Love Got To Do With It&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GC5E8ie2pdM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oGpFcHTxjZs\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Tina Turner died last week at the age of 83, and so here&#8217;s two of her biggest UK hits. &#8220;The Best&#8221; &#8211; no, it&#8217;s not called &#8220;Simply The Best&#8221; &#8211; reached number 5 in 1989. &#8220;What&#8217;s Love Got to Do With It&#8221; reached number 3 in 1984 and is her joint highest placing UK hit. Her other number 3s were &#8220;River Deep, Mountain High&#8221; (1966), and &#8220;We Don&#8217;t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)&#8221; in 1985. However, her third charting track, just outside the top 40, is actually &#8220;Proud Mary&#8221; &#8211; which has never been a hit for her in this country, though the Creedence Clearwater Revival original reached number 8 in 1969.<\/p>\n<p>Two of her compilation albums appear on the album chart &#8211; <strong>&#8220;Simply the Best&#8221;<\/strong> at number 17, and\u00a0<strong>&#8220;The Platinum Collection&#8221;<\/strong> at number 32.<\/p>\n<p><strong>36. Harry Styles &#8211; &#8220;Satellite&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bGZplqeIb3w\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This has been put out as a single to tie in with his current UK tour, but it&#8217;s been making rather slow headway &#8211; the video above has been out for four weeks. Never mind, though &#8211; &#8220;As It Was&#8221; is having a resurgence and currently sits at number 4. &#8220;Late Night Talking&#8221; is also outperforming it, currently at number 31. Maybe this wasn&#8217;t a great choice of single?<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Calm Down&#8221; by Rema<\/strong> reaches number 3, as previously mentioned.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;React&#8221; by Switch Disco &amp; Ella Henderson<\/strong> climbs 6-5.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Giving Me&#8221; by Jazzy\u00a0<\/strong>climbs 8-6.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Dancing is Healing&#8221; by Rudimental with Charlotte Plank &amp; Vibe Chemistry<\/strong> climbs 14-11.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;All My Life&#8221; by Lil Durk featuring J Cole<\/strong> is slowly climbing the teens, moving 17-16-14.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Padam Padam&#8221; by Kylie Minogue<\/strong> climbs 26-23, so it wasn&#8217;t just a fanbase thing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Waffle House&#8221; by the Jonas Brothers<\/strong> climbs 36-33.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are eight new and re-entries this week. Making room for them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Boy&#8217;s a Liar&#8221; by PinkPantheress<\/strong>, which peaked at 2 and lasted an impressive 17 weeks in the top 40.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Cha Cha Cha&#8221; by Kaarija<\/strong> drops out after two weeks now that Eurovision is fading from memory.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;I Wrote a Song&#8221; by Mae Muller<\/strong>, ditto.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Queen of Kings&#8221; by Alessandra<\/strong>, ditto. (&#8220;Tattoo&#8221; by Loreen, however, is still hanging in at number 10, confirming its status as a Proper Hit.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Life Goes On&#8221; by Ed Sheeran<\/strong> peaked at 29.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Haven&#8217;t You Ever Been in Love Before&#8221; by Lewis Capaldi<\/strong> had a single week at number 28 on the release of the album.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Mathematical Disrespect&#8221; by Lil Mabu<\/strong> got two weeks, peaking at 27.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the album chart, <strong>&#8220;Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent&#8221; by Lewis Capaldi<\/strong> gets a second week at number 1. The top end of the album chart is clogged with records that will not die &#8211; &#8220;Midnights&#8221; by Taylor Swift rebounds to number 2, but it&#8217;s never dropped out of the top 10 in 32 weeks on release.\u00a0&#8220;Harry&#8217;s House&#8221; by Harry Styles is at number 3, and it&#8217;s been out for over a year. The recent Ed Sheeran album is number 4, and number 5 is a Weeknd album that has been on the top 40 without interruption since February 2021. And number 6 is Beyonc\u00e9&#8217;s Renaissance, which has been out for 44 weeks &#8211; though it only spent 20 of those weeks on the chart, and it&#8217;s back now on the strength of its deluxe version.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Sparks &#8211; &#8220;The Girl is Crying in Her Latte&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UTAxPhxADo0\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>May we all be like Sparks when we are in our late seventies. This is Sparks&#8217; 25th studio album, and it matches the position of the last two.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Simply Red &#8211; &#8220;Time&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uv75qrsdx_U\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That single&#8217;s better than I was expecting. It&#8217;s their thirteenth album, and the third in a row to make the top 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Arlo Parks &#8211; &#8220;My Soft Machine&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YupeXJgW9ss\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Follow up to 2021&#8217;s &#8220;Collapsed in Sunbeams&#8221;. That reached number 3, but this is still very respectable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12. Lil Durk &#8211; &#8220;Almost Healed&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The single &#8220;All My Life&#8221; is at number 14. His previous album made the top 10, so this is a step down.<\/p>\n<p><strong>18. Mike Oldfield &#8211; &#8220;Tubular Bells&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RgdqAd1fR2o\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>50th anniversary reissue. It includes the above track, which is a demo for the abandoned &#8220;Tubular Bells 4&#8221;, described in promotion as Oldfield&#8217;s last ever recording.
