Doja Cat &#8211; &#8220;Paint the Town Red&#8221;<\/a><br \/>\n29. Doja Cat &#8211; &#8220;Agora Hills&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0c66ksfigtU?si=HfNI0UOV6K5gm3_i\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Doja Cat gets a fourth week at number 1, but her album\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Scarlet&#8221;<\/strong> is also out this week, and lands at number 5. That&#8217;s actually two places below her 2021 album &#8220;Planet Her&#8221;, but as we&#8217;ll see, it&#8217;s a busy week at the top end of the album chart. The somewhat less instant release week single &#8220;Agora Hills&#8221; also charts &#8211; her third track on the top 100 is the promotional single &#8220;Demons&#8221;, which only got to number 53 on release, and re-enters at 87 on the strength of the album.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>20. Nines featuring GRM Daily &#8211; &#8220;Daily Duppy&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ECgvyWllj3o?si=hrW7JKkoXzmzEVX3\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In other words, it&#8217;s an untitled freestyle for GRM Daily&#8217;s &#8220;Daily Duppy&#8221; series &#8211; quite why the channel gets an\u00a0<em>artist<\/em> credit, I have no idea. This is a good one, though, and you can see why it stood out.\u00a0It&#8217;s Nines&#8217; sixth hit, and to be fair, he&#8217;s had two bigger hits than this with regular singles this year. Still, there&#8217;s tons of these &#8220;Daily Duppy&#8221; tracks and Nines is only the second to make the top 40 &#8211; the previous record was number 35 for Central Cee last year, and he&#8217;s a big name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>21. Tom Odell &#8211; &#8220;Black Friday&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KMIKzWyZPSA?si=fFoc0Mlw6QeY1tck\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Interesting. This is the third single from Odell&#8217;s upcoming sixth album. He hasn&#8217;t had a hit single, or even made the top 100, with a new release since 2016, when &#8220;Magnetised&#8221; got a week at number 40. But &#8220;Another Love&#8221; was reactivated from the back catalogue earlier this year and had a long run on the chart, which has clearly reminded a bunch of people that Tom Odell still exists. Given the budget for that video, I suspect the success of this track has come as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28. Blink-182 &#8211; &#8220;One More Time&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fSKQRDq3RkM?si=gfLYorCy3G3wswIP\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another surprise. Blink-182 had a number 31 hit last year with &#8220;Edging&#8221;, which was their first single in years with the classic line-up. I would not have bet on them getting a second hit from an album at this point in their career, let alone with a ballad. So far as the band are concerned, this is meant to be a double A-side with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZawP8SNUyi4\">&#8220;More Than You Know&#8221;<\/a>, but that&#8217;s not how the chart works in the streaming era.<\/p>\n<p><strong>31. Headie One x K-Trap x Clavish &#8211; &#8220;Triple Threat&#8221;<br \/>\n39. Headie One &amp; K-Trap &#8211; &#8220;Park Chinois&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pQ9OJ0Sj8aM?si=oTrstJE6XRLaNUO2\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_0mNmOswwq8?si=j8smga45lcEUYl0g\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Triple Threat&#8221; is the release week single from <strong>&#8220;Strength to Strength&#8221;<\/strong>, a mixtape by Headie One &amp; K-Trap (but not Clavish) which enters the album chart at number 4. Which is one place higher than Doja Cat. Headie One had a number 1 album in 2020 but this is very high for one of his mixtape releases. K-Trap hasn&#8217;t previously got an album into the top 10, though he&#8217;s come close. &#8220;Park Chinois&#8221; has been out for two weeks, but only made number 50 in its first week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>34. Mitski &#8211; &#8220;My Love Mine All Mine&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vx4kLgnFexo?si=jsWnvH85rALLjpm4\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Didn&#8217;t we do this video last week&#8230;? Oh yes, it&#8217;s the release week single from her album &#8220;The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We&#8221;, which was number 4 last week (and nowhere this week, but that&#8217;s normal for the album chart). Surprisingly, it climbs in its second week to give her a well deserved top 40 debut. None of her other singles have even made the top 100.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s climbers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Strangers&#8221; by Kenya Grace<\/strong> climbs 3-2.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Prada&#8221; by c\u00e4sso x Raye x D-Block Europe<\/strong> climbs 4-3.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Greedy&#8221; by Tate McRae<\/strong> climbs 8-5. She needs to get to number 3 to match her career peak.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Water&#8221; by Tyla<\/strong> climbs 24-16.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;City Boys&#8221; by Burna Boy<\/strong> climbs 22-17.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;DNA (Loving You)&#8221; by Billy Gillies featuring Hannah Boleyn<\/strong> climbs 33-30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The seven tracks leaving the top 40 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>&#8220;The Weekend&#8221; by Stormzy &amp; Raye<\/strong>, which peaked at 23 in its release week but hung around for nine weeks, mostly in the 20s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Cheat On Me&#8221; by Burna Boy feauring Dave<\/strong>, entering at 19 and lasting four weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Rave Out&#8221; by Turno x Skepsis x Charlotte Plank<\/strong>, with a single week at number 37.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Calm Down&#8221; by Rema<\/strong>, which re-entered last week at 39.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Flowers&#8221; by Miley Cyrus<\/strong>, which would have been on the chart since January if it hadn&#8217;t dropped to 41 for a single week in August.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;On My Love&#8221; by Zara Larsson &amp; David Guetta<\/strong>, after a single week at number 38.<\/li>\n<li><strong>&#8220;Seven&#8221; by Jung Kook featuring Latto<\/strong>, which peaked at 3 and managed a very respectable ten weeks on the chart.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The longest running track on the top 40 is still\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Dance the Night&#8221; by Dua Lipa<\/strong>, with 18 consecutive weeks, and currently sitting at number 24.<\/p>\n<p>On the album chart:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Kylie Minogue &#8211; &#8220;Tension&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not at all surprising &#8211; the previous two studio albums also went to number 1. The singles &#8220;Padam Padam&#8221; and &#8220;Tension&#8221; both charted.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve already covered Headie One &amp; K-Trap at 4 and Doja Cat at 5, so we move on to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>15. Bakar &#8211; &#8220;Halo&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His second album; the first got to 31. The single &#8220;Hell N Back&#8221; reached number 20 in March. It&#8217;s a week of unusual overlap between the singles and albums markets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>30. Teenage Fanclub &#8211; &#8220;Nothing Lasts Forever&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ikCMuSHsqOU?si=_Zn2BlPoOUDoTpmM\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The previous two Teenage Fanclub albums reached 10 and 11, but we&#8217;ve reverted to what they were achieving before that.
