As in that series, he\u2019s not exactly on board with the heir role that Sebastian wants him to play, and is rather more inclined to align with his fellow mutants.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 3-4.\u00a0<\/strong><em>The Reavers attack Madripoor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lowtown\u00a0<\/strong>is presented here as part of a continuous city with Hightown, which I must admit is how I\u2019d always imagined it &#8211; but the current\u00a0<em>Wolverine: Madripoor Knights\u00a0<\/em>series depicts them as two separate towns with a stretch of countryside (and the small town of Capristi) in between.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve seen this version of the Reavers attacking Lowtown before, in <em>Marauders<\/em> #19. The Morlocks laid claim to the Princess Bar (Wolverine\u2019s old stomping ground, or at least somewhere reusing the name) in that same issue.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cYou could just get in a boat and leave.\u201d<\/b> This is exactly what the Morlocks (specifically including Callisto) had done in <em>Dark X-Men<\/em> #2, but since they\u2019ve obviously returned since that story, this feels like a continuity error rather than a reference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGE 5.\u00a0<\/strong>Recap and credits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGE 6.\u00a0<\/strong><em>Emma Frost directs traffic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Orchis space station was destroyed in\u00a0<em>Fall of the House of X<\/em> #2.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Stasis was killed in\u00a0<em>Fall of the House of X<\/em> #3.<\/p>\n<p>Captain Krakoa\u2019s acquittal took place in the epilogue of\u00a0<em>Uncanny Avengers<\/em> #5, where he declares himself to be the new Flag-Smasher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 7-8.\u00a0<\/strong><em>Wolverine kills Orchis soldiers in the X-Men\u2019s underground base.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This echoes Wolverine\u2019s attack on Hellfire Club soldiers in\u00a0<em>X-Men<\/em> #133.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 9-10. <\/strong><em>Shadowkat rescues Callisto.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Straightforward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 11-12.\u00a0<\/strong><em>Shinobi explains Sebastian\u2019s plan.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve covered this earlier. Killian Devo is described by Shinobi as \u201cthe founder of Orchis\u201d, which is true so far as he and Sebastian know; in fact,\u00a0<em>Inferno<\/em> revealed that he had been co-opted into the role by the time-travelling Omega Sentinel. Devo has never really\u00a0<em>done\u00a0<\/em>much of importance &#8211; even under Hickman &#8211; and this issue is clearly intended to get him off the playing field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 13-14. <\/strong><em>The X-Men fight Killian Devo.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our X-Men team this issue are Synch, Emma Frost, Magik, Ms Marvel, Wolverine and Forge (who returned to Earth in <em>Invincible Iron Man<\/em> &#8211; we never found out where he had been, or why he appeared somewhere different from all the other mutants).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhen the mutate Reed Richards was missing, his intellectual property fell into the hands of Damage Control, and Orchis confiscated it.\u201d <\/strong>This refers back to a data page from <em>House of X<\/em> #1, which referenced Reed\u2019s inventions winding up in the hands of Damage Control in more general terms. Travel to the Negative Zone is a fairly standard Fantastic Four thing.<\/p>\n<p>Emma tells us that Devo wasn\u2019t just manipulated by Omega Sentinel but completely overwritten with a mind she can\u2019t control. (It\u2019s not really clear how she even knows that Omega Sentinel was responsible, but maybe there\u2019s something about his mind that makes that apparent.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGE 15.\u00a0<\/strong><em>Ms Marvel asks Dr Doom to send his mutants to help.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We first saw Doom\u2019s Latverian mutants in issues #28-29, and as indicated in that story, Doom does ultimately send them to intervene, if only because he sees Orchis as trespassing on his turf.<\/p>\n<p>Doom is standing over a map with models of characters involved in the storyline, so evidently he\u2019s following it closely.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 16-19. <\/strong><em>Slag, Volta and Nerium arrive to help.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>These are the same three who debuted in issue #28 (the rest of their team didn\u2019t appear until #29). Their appearance here, even if only to tie up a side quest, attempts to provide some pay-off to their arc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGES 20-21.\u00a0<\/strong><em>Cyclops and Nimrod.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This is a direct continuation of\u00a0<em>Fall of the House of X\u00a0<\/em>#3, and basically an exercise in setting up the same cliffhanger for anyone simply reading this book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAGE 22.\u00a0<\/strong>Trailers.
