Charts – 3 July 2026

Posted on Saturday, July 4, 2026 by Paul in Music

We’re almost at the point where this has stopped being boring and started being interesting again.

1. Sam Fender & Olivia Dean – “Rein Me In”

That’s 15 weeks at number 1, and it remains miles ahead of the number 2 single. Fifteen weeks is enough to tie with Drake’s “One Dance” and Wet Wet Wet’s “Love Is All Around”. There are only two tracks left to beat. Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” lasted 16 weeks in 1991, and “Rein Me In” only needs one more week to match that. The all-time record is 18 weeks, set by Frankie Laine’s “I Believe” in 1953. That could happen, but “Rein Me In” did drop in streams this week and it could yet get hit by downweighting before making it to 18 weeks.

27. Sombr – “My Body Isn’t Ready”

The third single from his upcoming album. The first one was “Homewrecker”, which peaked at number 4 and is still in the top 30 after 21 weeks. The second was “Potential”, which entered at number 31 and dropped out of the top 40 after a fortnight. I’m not immediately sold on this one as a single, but we’ll see if it does better.

31. Hugel, Imael Angel & Ultra Naté – “Movin’ To The Sun”

This has been climbing from the lower reaches for a couple of weeks, and quite fast at that. Hugel is a French DJ, getting his first hit in this country. Imael Angel is puzzling – a house producer who seems to be primarily a reiki practitioner. This would appear to be her. At any rate, it’s her first hit too.

Ultra Naté is best remembered in this country for “Free”, which reached number 4 in 1997, though she did have another top 10 hit and a few other tracks made the top 40 in the following years. She was last in the top 40 in 2005, guesting on Stonebridge’s “Freak On”.

Her contribution to this track is an original vocal, not a sample credit.

39. Gracie Abrams – “Look At My Life”

This is the second single from her upcoming album; the first was “Hit the Wall”, which entered at number 18 and promptly crashed to number 32 in its second week, departing the top 40 entirely three weeks later. To be fair, it’s continued to hang around outside the top 40 and it sits at 41 this week. This one is maybe a bit stronger in terms of having an actual chorus, but I think I preferred “Hit the Wall”.

40. Aitch – “RMB (Ring My Bell)”

This just missed the top 40 on release two weeks ago. Aitch last had a hit in February 2025 when “A Guy Called” made number 25, but this is him back to phoning it in, honestly. The original of “Ring My Bell” was a number 1 in 1979 for Anita Ward, a pure one-hit wonder in this country.

This week’s climbers:

  • “Free Your Mind” by Prospa & Cloonee climbs 12-10, given them both their first top 10 hit.
  • “Material Lover” by Sienna Spiro climbs 15-14.
  • “Earrings” by Malcolm Todd climbs 17-16.
  • “Dai Dai” by Shakira & Burna Boy climbs 19-18.
  • “Aperture” by Harry Styles, which re-entered at 25 two weeks ago, rebounds from 27 to 22.
  • “Self Aware” by Temper City climbs 29-28.
  • “Wonderwall” by Oasis climbs 33-32.

The four tracks leaving the top 40 are:

  • “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” by Olivia Dean, which re-entered at 39 two weeks ago. Obviously, she still has a number 1, plus “Man I Need” at number 11.
  • “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” by Shakira featuring Freshlyground, which re-entered at 37 two weeks ago. The current single “Dai Dai” is at 18.
  • “Iconic By Mistake” by Le Sserafim, Illit & Katseye, which entered at 22 two weeks ago.
  • “Go” by the Chemical Brothers, with an eight-week run that peaked at number 4.

On the album chart…

1. Muse – “The Wow Signal”

Their tenth studio album and their eighth consecutive number 1. It’s overwhelmingly here on first week physical sales.

6. The Pretty Reckless – “Dear God”

The videos for this album are all age-restricted, so I can’t embed them. It’s their fifth album, and matches the position of its predecessor from 2021.

39. Metallica – “ReLoad”

Deluxe reissue of the 1997 album, which reached number 4.
